c.1939 10pc. Pre War Cast Lead Indians Set

Some time ago I sold an incredible mint in mint box set of unused pre-war hand painted lead American soldiers in their original box. They were marked only "Japan". The set below originates from the same unused, mint in box store stock mid-west collection. This is the "Indians" set of 10 cast lead figures in factory perfect mint condition; still tied to their original backing card and in their original full color box.

The set contains eight standing figures and two on horseback. As I mentioned, none have ever been untied from their original backing card which lays in the bottom of the box. All are beautifully hand painted in several colors. Every one is in perfect mint condition. Also included are the two original s-curved spacers. These lay in the exact position as when first manufactured over 70 years ago. The only marking is "Made In Japan" stamped on the backing card below the hooves of the lower tier horse.

The fabulous two piece box was covered with dazzling red textured paper; both on the sides and top. It features a full color paper strip with the words "INDIANS" printed across in large blocked lettering. Divided horizontally in yellow and green, it was illustrated with seven figures representing the stereotypical "Indian". Horseback, prone, or standing; most are holding rifles. Again, the only marking is "Made in Japan" printed in the lower left corner. The front box apron is coded with the number 1.

Size: Figures approx. 2¼" tall each. Box 10¼" x 6¼" x 1"
